Since 1951

Our History

Pete’s 881 Club, a Sports Bar and Card Room, was opened in 1951 at 881 Fourth Street (hence the name, Pete’s 881 Club), by A.P. Pellolio, also known as β€œPete.” Pete had a stroke in 1988, and the management of the business was taken over by his son, Randy, while his daughter, Linda, took over the bookkeeping. Upon his death, ownership passed to his widow, Mayme.

In 1989, the club moved to its current location at 721 Lincoln Avenue. At first, the card room was in a separate room. In 1997, the card room separated from the bar and moved a block away to a building on Dubois Street. It was named β€œClub San Rafael,” and remained there for three years. The wall separating the bar and card room was removed to expand the bar area.

The card room returned to Lincoln Avenue in 2000, and has since operated as a separate business inside the bar.

Doesn't this look like Johnathan?

Mayme passed away July 28, 2008, and the ownership of Pete’s 881 Club passed to Randy and Linda, assuring the continuation of this unique family-owned and operated business.
